Congratulations! That’s great news. I may tackle a few more down the road, but for now I unfortunately have my hands pretty full. Thanks for the feedback!

Comment on How to Dual Boot Windows and Zorin OS on a Second Drive by Graeme https://tektoc.net/2025/11/19/how-to-dual-boot-windows-and-zorin-os-on-a-second-drive/#comment-159 Mon, 02 Feb 2026 16:50:19 +0000 https://tektoc.net/?p=4746#comment-159 In reply to Clayton.

It *shouldn’t*. Adding Linux in a dual boot arrangement should simply add the boot option to the existing list of options. I have a PC that runs Windows and 2 different versions of Linux, each boot option simply showing up after the install as an additional option. The reason I say *shouldn’t* though, is that I don’t use AOMEI products, so I’m not familiar with the specifics of their applications. Also, as with all things computing, sometimes the unexpected happens….

But I have a concern. I have Win 10 and use Aomei Backupper with the Recovery Environment Boot Up option. I understand that by adding Zorin 18 on a second SSD, that Linux will create a GRUB menu giving me the option to choose Win 10 or Zorin. Will this erase the Aomei Recovery boot up menu?

Sounds like a cool project! Sorry about the laptop. I’m pretty determined to move away from MSoft, first with my work PC. I’m moving slowly, though, as I can’t afford an accident that leads to downtime.

I’m self-hosting my own as well, but that’s because I provide the first secure source for quantum random numbers on the web. You’ll find my server URL in your comment registrant database. We should stay in touch, especially if you’re going to adopt Linux as your regular OS. I chose to do the same after my unsupported Win-7 laptop swallowed the GPU. Both system and data disks from that system live on, as image files in my personal cloud.

Sorry, no. My note-taking is pretty individual to me, I’m afraid. Even if I still had them, I don’t think they’d be too helpful to anyone else.

Hello! Thanks for your question. The tool was written for the 220-1001 and 220-1002 which were in effect at the time I put the tool together. From those who have used the tool to help with the new -1101 and -1102 exams, it seems there is significant alignment with the previous versions of the exam. That said, I can’t guarantee anything. The best thing to do is modify the tool as you see fit to align with whatever training you are taking to prepare for the exam. That’s basically how it was built to begin with. I hope that helps, and best wishes for your success!
