Unboxing and Tweaking an Amazon Refurbished HP ProDesk 600 G5 Mini PC

I’m a huge fan of purchasing refurbished PCs for productivity purposes (as opposed to more computing-intensive tasks like gaming and content creation). But I hear from a lot of folks that they are a bit nervous going this route given their uncertainty on what they will actually receive for their hard-earned money.

In this video, I discuss the use case for this HP ProDesk Mini PC, unbox what I received from Amazon, and go through some of the steps I took to make sure I got a fair deal, and to get the PC up to snuff for the job it’s been purchased to do.

UPDATE: after filming, I had a chance to do a little more investigation into the wi-fi issue. It turned out the both the wi-fi and Bluetooth antennas were in place, and the wires were run in the case, but the M.2 wi-fi/Bluetooth adapter was indeed missing. I tested the USB dongle that was included with the PC and it works quite well. In the end, I just removed the antennas and wiring to clean up the case a bit.
